Tackling our Climate Crisis

July 22, 2019 @ 6:45 pm - 8:00 pm

With less than twelve years left to limit our carbon emissions to avoid climate catastrophe, the time for action is now – from the local to the global level. You are invited to join Global Greengrants Fund UK and CanonburyResponds for an evening of discussion on how we can tackle the climate crisis with three inspiring speakers:

World renowned environmental activist Nnimmo Bassey will talk about his work with communities in the Niger Delta to counter ecological disaster, demand corporate accountability, and discuss the role of grassroots movements in providing solutions to climate change.

A speaker from Extinction Rebellion will talk about the role of environmental movements in achieving systems change to tackle the climate crisis.

Environmental geoscientist and Islington Councillor Roulin Khondoker will talk about local authority solutions to the climate crisis and our role as community members in helping to reduce our carbon emissions.
