York Festival of Ideas: Creating Inclusive Economies

June 15, 2018

Why in the 21st century do we have a more unequal society than ever before?

JRF is delighted to collaborate with the York Festival of Ideas on Creating Inclusive Economies, a focus day exploring the relationship between economic and political decision-making and impact of those decisions on the most vulnerable in our society.

JRF and JRHT Trustee Dianne Willcocks will be opening the event. The day will consist of four sessions:

  • Connecting the Dots: Global inequality, poverty and wellbeing
  • Solving UK Poverty
  • The Impact of Poverty on Households, Homelessness and Health
  • Building an Inclusive Economy: Where are the big ideas?

JRF Executive Director Claire Ainsley will appear on the ‘Solving UK Poverty’ panel discussion as well as chairing “The Impact of Poverty on Households, Homelessness and Health” session.

York Festival of Ideas is a programme of mostly free events in venues across York with talks from world-class speakers, performances, exhibitions and interactive experiences. The festival is organised by University of York and supported by numerous local and national partners.
