Strengthening local financial resilience

June 27, 2019 @ 2:30 pm - 4:00 pm

Living costs are rising faster for Britain’s poorest households than for the richest according to the ONS. At the same time the crisis of personal indebtedness deepens.

Everyone deserves the opportunity to have a decent lifestyle. Will you be part of our important discussion, bringing together a diverse range of stakeholders to share insights on how to strengthen financial resilience for the most vulnerable in our communities?

Please join Dr Shaun French, Associate Professor in Economic Geography at the University of Nottingham and Chairperson of the Nottingham Financial Resilience Partnership (NFRP) to a roundtable discussion.

At this event, we are bringing together stakeholders in multiple fields as well as experts and campaigners from across the UK. Dr Shaun French will be sharing some of the key lessons the NFRP has learned through its work, and explore with other participants how experience gained in Nottingham and elsewhere can help us understand how local partnerships can best tackle financial exclusion.

Nottingham has one of the highest levels of people who are over-indebted and the lowest household disposable incomes in the UK. The NFRP are an independent multi-agency partnership engaging a range of groups including charities, the Local Authority, private companies, credit unions, and local diocese to strengthen community’s financial resilience.
