Net zero places: Developing a community-led response to the climate crisis

March 7, 2022 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

IPPR North is delighted to host a webinar to mark the launch of a report on the transition to net zero. This will take place on Monday 7 March at 15.00-16.00 (GMT) online via Zoom. Join IPPR North and partners Scottish Power at this webinar to launch a report on Net zero places and developing a community-led response to the climate crisis.

The transition to net zero will have an impact on all aspects of people’s lives. To ensure that we deliver a just transition and seize the opportunity, communities must be at the heart of the transition.

This event provides an opportunity to understand what policymakers, businesses, public services and communities themselves can do to create more sustainable and equitable low carbon places.

The event will include a short presentation from Jonathan Webb, senior research fellow at IPPR North, on its latest research on environmental justice and sustainable places. A panel of speakers, including mayor of Greater Manchester Andy Burnham, will then give their perspective on net zero places. Following this, attendees will have the opportunity to pose questions to our speakers.
