TCPA conference: Delivering healthy places with Garden City Principles

The TCPA’s 2019 Summer conference will focus on delivering healthy places with Garden City principles. As government continues to support the development of ‘garden communities’, and numerous local authorities seek to ensure control of their housing growth needs, expertise on the delivery of new places is more important than ever.

One year on from our ‘Making Garden Communities, Great Communities’ conference, and in the context of the new National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) and latest ‘garden communities prospectus’, as well as the TCPA’s work on Healthy New Towns, this conference will provide an opportunity to reinforce the meaning of Garden City Principles in practice, sharing the latest learning on delivery issues such as public participation and stewardship, facilitating a public debate about challenges and opportunities for good design and delivering healthy places.

The conference will include speakers from across government as well as a range of places already working hard to create high-quality healthy new places inspired by the Garden City Principles. It will be aimed at anyone thinking about or already embarking on the process, including civil servants, councillors, planners, developers or members of local communities.
