North of Tyne Mayoral Assembly

Ahead of the election a North of Tyne Mayor for Newcastle, North Tyneside and Northumberland on 2nd May, Tyne & Wear’s next assembly is Tuesday 30th April, with the candidates for North of Tyne Mayor.
Our key charitable aim is to increase the number of people involved in public life. Most people are unaware of the election, the powers the Mayor will have or what difference it will make to their lives. We want to change that. We also want to increase accountability locally. By asking the candidates to work with us to address issues of local concern. Citizens have done this successfully in Manchester and London, and work well with Andy Burnham and Sadiq Khan. We want to do the same in Tyne & Wear.
