Inclusive economy, community business?

October 10, 2019 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Why do community businesses thrive in some deprived areas and not others?

Join the Centre for Local Economic Strategies (CLES) and the Power to Change Research Institute as we launch our new report –Building an inclusive economy through community business. The report explores the role of social capital and agency in the formation of community businesses in deprived communities.

Using case studies from three areas of the UK, our research seeks to determine how community businesses can support the development of a more inclusive economy in deprived communities. The research examines the interconnections between social capital and agency in stimulating social action and developing collective responses to social and economic challenges.

If you have an interest in seeding and growing community business then this event is for you. All attendees will receive a copy of the 80-page report, learn more about the findings and take part in a workshop to explore the recommendations it contains.
