Common Good Land Use National Workshop
September 16, 2019 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Does your organisation manage land and create community benefits, or support organisations which do?
Would you like to meet other people doing similar work, learn from each other, and help strengthen the movement around using land for the common good?
Then come along to our workshop in London on 16th September to hear from local speakers about their experiences, have your say on the future of community-led land management in the UK, and plan a way forward with your peers and a wider network of funders and policy-makers interested in these issues. Lunch will be provided, and we will be in the Guide’s Hall at Coram’s Fields, which is wheelchair accessible with exits directly onto the street. If you need more information or support to attend the event please email [email protected].
Shared Assets believes land is going to be one of the key social justice issues of the coming decade, and that it should be managed for the common good. This year we’ve been undertaking research on people already managing land in ways which create community benefits, to help raise their profile and support them effectively. We call these organisations ‘common good land users’, but they might go by lots of different names.
In this national workshop, we want to bring together community groups working on land, with policy makers and funders, to share our preliminary research results, and workshop together the best ways of bolstering the emerging common good land movement.
