Celebrating Welwyn Garden City at 100

September 10, 2020 - September 11, 2020

The TCPA is organising a two-day creative exploration of the Garden City idea as one of the signature events to celebrate the centenary of Welwyn Garden City in 2020.

The enduring influence of Welwyn, and the garden city principles it sought to enshrine, is recognised internationally. This two-day event will bring together expert speakers and commentators from across the world to generate lively discussion and interventions designed to address the 21st century challenges of providing places where people want to live, and can afford to do so.

We will consider the legacy and the future of the Garden City and the countless places it inspired; What went right? What could have been done better? And above all, how can we apply this practical experience both at home and abroad, against a context of population growth, climate change and the need for sustainable living?

Keynote speakers already include: Mitchell Silver, New York City Parks and Recreation Department

To reserve or book a place, or sign up for updates, please email: [email protected]

Tickets start at £150.00 with some concessions available upon request.
