Anchor institution approaches

March 19, 2020 @ 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm

10 steps to help you think about and develop an anchor institution approach in your place

About this Event

In this session you will hear about the 10 steps you need to consider in order to develop your own organisations role as an anchor in your place and how to develop your wider anchor network. You will have the opportunity to hear and learn from your CLES trainers and from the experiences of fellow attendees. You will finish this interactive, workshop-style session with your own personal action plan to make things happen in your place.

Who’s it for?

This training is for anyone who works in an anchor institution, be that local government, health or education institution, public services, housing or the private sector, who wants practical steps and an action plan to orientating their organisation’s activity towards building community wealth in their place.

Why attend?

Community wealth building has been proven to bring real benefits to local people and places, as exemplified by the success of the Preston Model. A growing number of towns and cities across the UK are adopting this new approach, buoyed by an awareness of its necessity from the anchor institutions in those places. This course provides an action plan for institutions to adopt a community wealth building approach and become truly rooted in the economic success of their place.

Attend this course if you want to join a growing movement of Community Wealth Builders who are succeeding in finding new ways to realise economic, social, and environmental benefits in their local communities.

Facilitators

This session will be led by one of the following CLES team members, who each bring first hand knowledge and experience of developing and implementing anchor institution approaches in UK towns and cities:

Frances Jones, Associate Director

Tom Lloyd Goodwin, Associate Director
